Liverpool will beat Arsenal and finish third

What a brilliant weekend's footy. Nearly every result went just the way I would want it to, with two notable exceptions. Yes, you guessed it...flipping Manchester, both teams that is.

Firstly Man Utd demolished Portsmouth - I always want them to lose, it goes without saying - but we all expected that result. The one we didn't expect was the £100 million bunch of Johnny-come-latelies, Man City, slipping up at lowly Hull.

My six-fold was cantering down the back straight like Kauto Star, but that was the one result that I didn't see coming. I'll get some returns through my four & five folds, but it's a shocker, I must say. Moneybags has leapfrogged me to go back to the top of the table. We'll see about that next week.

I didn't quite get the correct score result in the biggest derby game in Britain, but hey, who cares? I reckon this was the most important win of the season so far, purely because once Jimmy the Greek got sent off (which was the correct decision, Fellaini staying on the field was incorrect) it looked like it was going to be one of those days, but by 'eck we showed some character.

What pleased me most of all was that once we went one up, we didn't try and sit on the lead. Now going into Wednesday's match against the Arse, Liverpool will be as confident as they have ever been.

Arsenal looked just too narrow and too intricate against Chelsea at the weekend. Arsenal can only play one way, and no amount of possession, with the ball played across the back can substitute for a real cutting edge. You've got to say Liverpool to win at [3.9] is definitely worth a flutter.

How things can change in this league! Not so long ago my mate Robbie was saying Arsenal were going to win the league, I bet he's not so sure now.

I've always said we can get third place and I'm even more confident now. I think it's worth a few quid on at [5.4] but get on it before Wednesday night, because the odds are sure to shorten after we sneak a cheeky 2-1 win ([14.5]) at the Library.

So you didn't sit on the lead. No, Liverpool players just spent the rest of the game diving about and wasting time at every opportunity. And if you beat Arsenal on Wednesday I will wear an Arsenal shirt for a week and I am a Spurs fan.
I thought it was only Man U players who spend the whole game in the face of the referee. Liverpool did enough of it against Everton to make me change my mind.

Hey Alan,do I detect a Spurs fan getting a bit touchy over your chances of getting a CL place? I imagine there were quite a lot of nosebleeds round white Hart lane at the lofty altitude of fourth place recently? heres a link you might want to use on Thursday ;)

Scouse, the point of my comment was to have a go at the way Liverpool play the game. I am not too bothered about the CL as we would probably be as embarrassing as Liverpool were last year. Lastly I already own an Arsenal shirt. It is in the toilet in my snooker room in case I run out of paper!!!!!!
If you think I enjoyed mentioning my snooker room, YES I DID
