Barcelona will bounce back and pummel Sevilla
There plenty of televised European action this weekend as Germany returns from its winter slumber. These are the best bets from the three games that we're looking forward to most...
Bayern Munich v Hoffenheim
(Friday, 7.30pm, ESPN)
The Bundesliga winter break is over, hooray! For once, Bayern Munich were actually the division's form team heading into Christmas, having won four on the spin, scoring ten in the latter two. The team bidding to crush that momentum and stop FC Hollywood going top for the first time in over a year are Hoffenheim, who memorably collapsed in the second half of last season. Hoffe have drawn their last two meetings with Bayern but Louis van Gaal's men look unstoppable at the moment.
Recommended bets: The hosts are a skimpy [1.48] to win so look at over 3.5 goals at [2.68] or over 4.5 at [5.1].
Barcelona v Sevilla
(Saturday, 9pm, Sky Sports 3)
The treble-winners are out for revenge after Sevilla became the first team since April 2008 to knock them out of a competition in midweek. The Rojiblancos have lost their last three league matches, and trailed 2-0 at the break in two of those, so don't be surprised if Barcelona punish them for their win at the Nou Camp earlier this month. The league fixture between the two last season ended 4-0.
Recommended bets: Barcelona are [2.02] to lead at half-time and full-time and [7.2] to be 2-0 up at the interval.
Napoli v Palermo
(Sunday, 7.45pm, ESPN)
Both of these rejuvenated Champions League contenders were starting to feel invincible before away Coppa Italia losses to Juventus and Lazio stripped them of their unbeaten runs. Napoli are unbeaten at the San Paolo all season, whereas Palermo have won just twice away. The last five matches between the sides have been won by the hosts - four of them 2-1.
Recommended bets: Napoli are a delicious [2.16] to triumph, with 2-1 at [9.8].
