Burnley will climb clear against Portsmouth

Once again there aren't enough 3pm Premier League games to keep each Soccer Saturday pundit busy, but it's an absolutely massive afternoon for the clubs locked in the relegation battle, as five of the bottom six are in action. Here's how we see things going down...

Birmingham v Wigan
Blues' recent wobble and Wigan's constant unpredictablility - they're the only team in the division to have won as often away as they have at home - prevents this from being a total home banker. However, Birmingham remain unbeaten in ten games at St Andrew's, only dropping points to top-five sides during that run, while Wigan are winless in eight so back the hosts at [1.98].

Bolton v Wolves
Massive, massive match. Two weeks ago, we set Moses Coyle a target of between eight and ten points from six straight clashes with relegation rivals. Bolton have taken just one from the first two, failing to score, so victory at home to Wolves is a necessity. The Trotters have lost just one of their last eight at home but have only won four, against Lincoln, Sheffield United, perennial Reebok no-showers West Ham and hopeless travellers Burnley. A draw is not out of the question at [3.4].

Burnley v Portsmouth
Another huge clash. Burnley have won just one of their last 15, losing nine, but have been presented with a real opportunity by welcoming Portsmouth the day after they have been effectively relegated by entering administration. We expect Pompey to put up more of a fight than many anticipate but they've lost five away league games on the spin, while Burnley have lost just two of their dozen games at Turf Moor this season, so there is no excuse for the [2.14] Clarets not to triumph.
